The Journey Begins

E-Waste-old-cell-phones-1000x1000-72-1Thanks for joining me!

This is my first blog and if ever you’re reading this, thank you!! this is actually a performance task so… shout out maam!

The topic i’m going to be tackling is about electronic wastes. I’ll be sharing my insights and thoughts about it. Actually to be honest, its not my first time to hear that word. But it’s my first time digging up depth about it and sharing it.

So first, what is electronic waste? -Electronic waste or e-waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Used electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling, or disposal are also considered e-waste. (Google, Wikipedia) So definitely it is very clear that these are out used electrical or electronic devices. These are those who should be trashed. The interesting and also alarming things i consider about this is that, it contributes to the trashes that people have’nt disposed properly. Actually, 1 million tons to 3.4 million tons of e-waste generated in U.S. in 2012 was recycled, resulting in a recycling rate of 29 percent. The e-waste recycling rate in 2011 was 24.9 percent and 19.6 percent in 2010 (I cant find an article concerning philippines)

Electronic waste contributes to world’s pollution growth from the past decades. Booming and Booming every day in a year. We have about a hundred countries all over the world that contributes to this, so its just alarming for me that most people do nothing. This wastes actually has a value even if they’re considered as waste. Remember, REUSE, REDUCE AND RECYCLE and implement this so that we can help restore our mother earth.

Remember that we set our nature and then it gives us balance. Our technology is far from being good rather, it is vigorous. We need to be responsible and disciplined for our nature just like how we upgrade our technology.

Even with all our technology and the inventions that make modern life so much easier than it once was, it takes just one big natural disaster to wipe all that away and remind us that, here on Earth, we’re still at the mercy of nature.
